🏊‍♂️ The First Lesson – Stroke Development, Distance Swimming & Life-Saving Water Safety

From the very first lesson, Gail focuses on teaching children the correct swimming strokes, helping them develop strong technique, stamina, coordination, and confidence.

An exceptional 99% of pupils achieve coordinated breaststroke technique in their very first lesson, giving them a strong foundation from day one.

Many children who arrive as complete non-swimmers are taught to swim distances of up to 400 metres in their very first session.

Her structured programme takes children from beginners to strong distance swimmers, capable of swimming safely over long distances.

Gail was the first female beach lifeguard and has personally rescued and prevented hundreds of drowning incidents throughout her career.

This real-life experience shapes every lesson she teaches.

⭐ A Unique Teaching Method – Built on Decades of Experience

Gail has used her decades of experience working in the USA and across the UK to develop her own unique teaching method.

This method is built on her background as an elite athlete and qualified Personal Trainer, enabling her to produce fast, competent, and confident swimmers.

There is no “faffing about” with endless bubble blowing or weeks of only kicking with floats.

Instead, children learn through:

✔ Structured technique development
✔ Correct stroke mechanics
✔ Proper breathing control
✔ Strong body position
✔ Early endurance building

Every lesson has clear goals and measurable progress.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent Support Position – Learning Together

Gail uses a proven “Support Position” system, where parents actively help develop their child’s swimming technique under her guidance.
This creates faster learning, stronger confidence, and better long-term results.
Parents are not spectators — they are part of the learning process.

👥 Individual Coaching – Even in Group Lessons

Even in group lessons, every child receives individual technical correction and personal coaching.
For example, if a group is working on backstroke legs, not all children will need the same correction.

Gail identifies and addresses each child’s specific needs, such as:

✔ Head position
✔ Body alignment
✔ Knee bend versus long-leg kicking
✔ Toe pointing

One child may need help placing their head correctly.
Another may need to stop bending their knees and develop long, powerful leg kicks.
Each issue is explained clearly and corrected immediately.

This personalised approach ensures every child progresses at their own best pace.

🌟 Real Results – Scarlette’s Swimming Journey

Scarlette joined Gail for her very first swimming lesson at just 3 years old.

From her first session, she began learning correct stroke technique, breath control, and confidence in the water and  she swam on her  back within two lessons. With Gail’s structured teaching method, personalised coaching, and strong parent support, Scarlette progressed rapidly.

Just over one year later, at only 4 years old, Scarlette was swimming an incredible half mile (800 metres) non-stop, unaided and without armbands.

This achievement reflects:

✔ Early stroke development
✔ Consistent technique correction
✔ Strong endurance training
✔ Confidence-building lessons
✔ Life-saving water skills

Scarlette’s journey is a powerful example of what children can achieve when they are taught properly from the start.
